Beechwood Lessons Program

Please find details of our Swimming Lesson Programme:-

Slough & Eton Dolphin Swimming Club offers Swim Teaching for children in our Programme of ½ hour group lessons at Beechwood School, Long Readings Lane, Slough SL2 1QE on Sundays between 14:30 and 17:30. We provide teaching through the ASA Learn to Swim Programme Stages 1 to 6 and then transfer to our Competitive Programme for Stages 7 to 10 and beyond. We take children from the age of 3 as long as they no longer need swim nappies and are able to take and follow instructions.

Swimming is a life-skill which takes some time to master and we would expect your commitment to the Slough and Eton Dolphin Swimming Club to be long term, in return we commit to teach your children to the best of our abilities also for the long term. To achieve these results we make a long term commitments to the pool providers and our other suppliers. So when calculating our Monthly Swim Fee we take the annual cost of the pool hire, teaching costs, insurance, equipment and administration costs, then divide this by eleven instalments (as there are no lessons in August) to arrive at a figure. We work on the basis of providing 36 weeks of teaching in any one calendar year and to achieve this try to schedule 38 weeks teaching to allow for up to 2 unexpected closures in the year. On this basis the calendar monthly payment is not paying for the forthcoming month but an instalment for the overall annual cost. For this reason we do not suspend payments due for holidays etc. Our cancellation notice period is one calendar month. We assume that by your children swimming in our programme you are accepting this.

We currently have a Waiting List for Beginners in Stages 1, 2 & 3 of some 30+ children as we are full in all of those lessons, you are welcome to join the waiting list.

In the interim please let me know if your child  is already able to float in deep water and is able to swim any of the four main swimming strokes:- Front crawl, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly as we have some spaces in our more advanced classes and in the Competitive Section of the Club?

Many thanks,

John Munday,

Slough & Eton Dolphin SC – Head Coach.
